The world is increasingly marked by uncertainty and chaos. In response, I find myself on a continuous search for harmony, balance and moments of tranquility. Nature, in both its vastness and its intimate details, offers me a profound sense of equilibrium.
I am drawn to landscapes and waterscapes that feel still and enduring—places that carry an atmospheric presence and memory. Northern BC and the Peace Region embody these qualities and have become central to my practice, offering vast spaces, subtle light and moments that invite reflection. More recently, I have turned my attention inward, finding a similar sense of wonder in the smaller, more intimate world of flowers and botanical forms. These close observations offer another way of exploring light, colour, fragility and the fleeting nature of beauty.
Whether working from an expansive landscape or a single flower, I am interested less in literal representation than in the emotional experience of looking—the way a moment, place or living form can hold memory and evoke a sense of connection.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, I often incorporate pastels and markers, building layers of colour and texture to capture these impressions and allow the imagery to emerge organically.
