Biography

Frances grew up in West Vancouver, BC, spent many years in Ontario, and now calls Fort St. John home. Her interest in drawing began at an early age, influenced by her father, a cartographer, and her mother, an art teacher. Beyond these early influences, she is largely self-taught.

Her work explores the human connection with the natural world. Atmosphere, space, and light become metaphors for the emotions, memories, and thoughts we carry within. Through this interplay of landscape and inner experience, her paintings invite a sense of contemplation and quiet reflection.

Frances has received numerous awards for her work, including the Distinguished Representational Award at the Peace Liard Regional Art Exhibition. She has exhibited in solo and group shows both locally and nationally, and her work is held in collections across Canada and internationally.
