Artist Statement
The world is increasingly marked by uncertainty and chaos. In response, I find myself on a continuous search for harmony, balance and moments of tranquility. Nature, especially in it's untouched forms, offers a profound sense of equilibrium. I am drawn to landscapes that feel still and enduring - places where the land holds a sense of presence and memory. Northern BC and the Peace Country have become central to my practice, offering vast space spaces, subtle light and moments that invite reflection.
Many of my paintings focus on twilight, when the day begins to shift and the landscape feels both familiar and mysterious. I use light, space and atmosphere to express emotion rather than literal detail, allowing viewers to bring their own experiences and feelings to the work. Painting is a meditative process for me, and I hope the work offers a similar sense of calm and contemplation to others.
